Council Member
Ph.D.University of Tsukuba, Japan is the Emeritus Professor of Finance, University of Colombo.
He retired as the Senior Professor in Finance from the Faculty of Management and Finance from the University of Colombo 2021. He was the Vice Chairman University Grants Commission, Sri Lanka from 2015 to 2019 during the time when the President of the Lyceum Campus was the Chairman of UGC, Sri Lanka. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance University of Colombo for 12 years, Director, World Bank-sponsored Higher Education sector project; Acceleration of Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD), Ministry of Higher Education, Sri Lanka, Director, World Bank-sponsored Higher Education sector project; Higher Education for Twenty first Century (HETC), Ministry of Higher Education, Sri Lanka and Chairman,Lanka Educational and Research Network (LEARN), Sri Lanka. Fluent in Japanese, he was also the Presidentof the Japanese Graduate Alumni Association (JAGAAS) of Sri Lanka, a body affiliated to the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka.
