Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)
Lyceum Campus's internal quality assurance strategy was established by its Board of Directors
and Shareholders and the Council when the organizational framework was adopted in 2023. The
Campus's IQA is not merely a procedural requirement but a fundamental driver for our Campus's
continuous development.
Our approach to internal quality assurance and enhancement is in full alignment to the
provisions set out in the Lyceum Campus Ordinance No 3 of 2022, Sri Lanka Qualifications
Framework (2016), Quality Policy of the Lyceum Campus (2023), vision and mission and core
values of the Campus (Strategic Plan 2023-2027) and Academic Quality Assurance and Enhancement
Framework of the Lyceum Campus (2023;2024).
Guided by the vision, mission, and core values the Campus is mandated to provide quality in
teaching, learning, research and innovation, and community service through an effective quality
assurance management system and continuous quality enhancement. To achieve these key result
areas "Institutional Quality Monitoring and Enhancement Directorate(IQMED)" was established in
pursuant to the Campus's by-laws in 2023.
Institutional Quality Monitoring and Enhancement Directorate (IQMED)
The IQMED is housed in the President's Secretariat and functions directly under the purview of the
President of the Lyceum Campus. It is headed by a Director, who is the Head and Officer in charge
of the IQMED appointed by the Council on the recommendations of the President. The Director reports
directly to the President.
The Director is responsible to plan, organize, develop, and monitor all internal programmes, and
activities of the Campus and for providing administrative and substantive leadership, guidance, and
support for QA activities at all levels of the Campus.
IQMED is managed by a Management Committee chaired by the President and composed of members of the
governance (Council, Academic Syndicate, Deans IQMED) and reps from Sub-Units (ie Faculties,
Departments, Administrative Divisions other academic and administrative Units, relevant Services)
and students.
Quality assurance activities at Faculty level are managed by Faculty Quality Assurance Cells (FQACs).
Coordinators for each FQACs are responsible for coordinating all internal QA activities of
the Faculty. Their focus would exclusively on faculty and department specific matters and reporting
to Director/IQMED. The Director of IQMED will work in collaboration with all academic and
administrative Units of the Campus. Organogram of IQMED is shown in below.
