What is the Teacher Development Diplomas at Lyceum Campus?
The Teacher Education Diploma Programmes at Lyceum Campus have been exclusively developed for two groups: students after O/Level who aspire to build a career in teaching, and prospective or currently practising teachers who want to formalise and strengthen their qualifications. Each 12-month diploma is recognised by TVEC (Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, Sri Lanka) and is built around three outcomes, improving candidates' English language competence, deepening their subject-matter knowledge, and developing effective, classroom-ready teaching skills by the end of the course in their chosen specialisation.
As each diploma focuses on a specific teaching specialisation, students graduate with focused expertise rather than a generic teaching qualification, whether that is early years development, a core subject like Mathematics or Science, English language instruction, or the specialist skills needed to support learners with additional needs. All diplomas share a common foundation of core education modules before branching into subject- or age-specific methodology and teaching practicum.

Entry Requirements Teacher Development Diplomas
The general entry requirement for all Teacher Development Diplomas is 6 passes at GCE Ordinary Level (O/Level), or 2 passes at GCE Advanced Level (A/Level). Four of the six diplomas carry an additional subject-specific requirement:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education (NVQ Level 4) : passes in Mother Tongue and Mathematics, plus 3 'C' passes in any other subjects
- Diploma in Teaching Mathematics: a 'C' pass in Mathematics
- Diploma in Teaching Science: a 'C' pass in Science
- Diploma in English Language Teaching: a 'C' pass in English
Students who do not meet these subject-specific requirements may still be eligible through an aptitude test or conditional entry
