Kumari Grero completed her graduation from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Obtained the Executive Diploma in Business Administration (EDBA) from the University of Colombo, and also read for the Masters in Business Administration from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She was conferred with a PhD in Education by the University of Aldersgate, Graduate Studies Division, Singapore.
Kumari Grero, Coordinating Principal of the largest international school chain in Sri Lanka for the past 27 years, is the other owner of the success story of the school. Today, Lyceum International School, has 10 branch schools with 20,000 students on board.
She was instrumental in coordinating the Vocational Training Centers of the Mohan Lal Grero Foundation where about 10 types of training programmes took place. Coordinated the Youth School where the students who dropped out of school were trained to become skilled workers and English classes for the students of government schools in 92 centers in Colombo district, covering over 25,000 students in total.
Has done a lot of social service including conducting a Distant Learning pre-school Programme through “Tharunee”, the most popular ladies’ weekly newspaper in Sri Lanka where about ten thousand Pre-School Teachers passed out, conducting free Montessori Schools for the needy kids and conducting Ladies Societies, empowering ladies to start their self-employment projects.
She has participated and contributed to the Pre-Primary & Primary Curriculum Development Programmes conducted by the National Institute of Education under Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka.
Kumari Grero, who has traveled widely overseas explicitly for the purpose of studying systems of education overseas, has published many books for the Lyceum International Schools including ‘Students Handbook’, ‘Teachers Handbook’, Handbook for Heads of Schools’, General prospectus, OL prospectus and AL prospectus, ‘Parents’ Information Booklets’ per grade, ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ for 34 departments and ‘Policy Book of Lyceum International School.
Mission of her life: To guide all the students to become a good human being and to be a blessing to the society.
