H. A. Anitha Siriwardana is an accomplished academic leader, researcher, intellectual, and human resource management professional with over 16 years of experience spanning higher education, academic administration, strategic management, quality assurance, human resource development, and organizational leadership. She served as the Head of the Department of Business Studies at Lyceum Campus, Sri Lanka, at it’s inception, where she lead academic strategy, programme development, quality assurance initiatives, research advancement, and faculty development.
Anitha is currently in the final submission stage of her doctoral studies at the University of Colombo, where her research examines Management Controls in the Space of Industry 4.0, focusing on how emerging digital technologies reshape management control systems within higher education institutions. Her interdisciplinary research combines management accounting, organizational studies, digital transformation, and Actor-Network Theory to explore the evolving relationship between technology and management practices. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Colombo and graduated as a First-Class Honours Gold Medalist with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from London South Bank University. Throughout her academic journey, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional academic excellence, earning multiple distinctions and first-class achievements.
Anitha’s scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed journal publications, international conference proceedings, doctoral colloquia presentations, and collaborative research projects focusing on Industry 4.0, management control systems, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and higher education transformation. Her research has been presented at leading academic forums and published in internationally recognized outlets, contributing to emerging discussions on digital transformation and organizational management. A passionate advocate for research and innovation, she has actively fostered research culture within Sri Lanka’s private higher education sector. Under her supervision and leadership, student researchers secured an international grant of USD 8,500 from UNESCO and Nestlé through a competitive global entrepreneurship and action research initiative. She also leads and conducts professional development workshops on Artificial Intelligence and Prompt Engineering for Professionals, delivering executive education programmes for senior corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry practitioners.
Her achievements have earned both national and international recognition. She was awarded the “Rising Star of the Year” accolade by Deakin University in the year 2023/2024, received the “Best Diplomat” Award among participants from more than twenty countries at an international diplomatic simulation in Thailand in 2023, and has been recognized for excellence in academic leadership and human resource management throughout her career.
Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Anitha has maintained a longstanding commitment to community engagement, youth development, leadership training, and volunteerism. She has contributed to numerous international and national initiatives in education, youth empowerment, sustainability, and social development, reflecting her belief in education as a catalyst for meaningful societal transformation.
