The Lyceum Global Foundation Program is an internationally recognized pre-university qualification which has been designed to bridge the gap between O/Level and university studies equipping students with the essential knowledge and skills to excel in their higher education.

This program is specifically tailored for students who have completed their O/Ls, offering them a fast-track route to pursue a degree or for the students who did not achieve their expected A/L results, providing them with an efficient & alternative pathway to enter a degree program in their desired field ensuring they can still achieve their academic goals.

  • Entry Requirement :

    Cambridge/EdExcel O/Level:
    • Minimum of 4 'C' (4 points each in EdExcel syllabus)
    • Must include at least a pass in Mathematics (2 points in EdExcel) and 'D' in English (3 points in EdExcel)

    G.C.E. (National) O/Level:
    • Minimum of 4 'C' grades
    • Must include at least a pass in Mathematics and 'C' in English

Yes. The Foundation Programme is an excellent alternative for students whose goal is a private or international university. It takes 10 months compared to 2 or more years for A/Levels, it is TVEC-recognised in Sri Lanka, and it gives direct entry into Year 1 of a bachelor's degree at Lyceum Campus partner universities in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. If your aim is an international degree, the Foundation Programme is typically the faster and more direct route.

For Cambridge or EdExcel O/Level students, you need a minimum of 4 C grades (or 4 points each for EdExcel), including a pass in Mathematics and a D in English Language. For GCE National O/Level students, you need a minimum of 4 C grades, including a pass in Mathematics and a C in English Language. If you are unsure whether your results qualify, the admissions team will review them personally.

The programme offers four streams: Foundation in Business, Foundation in Science, Foundation in Information Technology, and Foundation in Engineering. Your stream should match the degree you plan to study at university. Business and Commerce students choose Business; students aiming at Medicine, Pharmacy, or Biomedical Science choose Science; Software Engineering and Computer Science students choose IT; and Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering students choose Engineering.

The programme is 10 months in duration, making it significantly faster than A/Levels as a route into university. There are two intakes per year, in March and September. The March intake fills quickly and students are encouraged to apply at least 6 to 8 weeks before their preferred intake date.

On successful completion, students gain direct entry into Year 1 of a bachelor's degree at Lyceum Campus partner universities in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. Foundation in Business students can also progress into the Deakin University 1+2 Pathway Programme, completing Years 2 and 3 at Deakin University in Australia.

Yes. The Lyceum Global Foundation Programme is fully recognised by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka. This makes it a nationally accepted pre-university qualification, not just an internal certificate.

Yes. Merit-based scholarships of up to 50% off tuition fees are available based on O/Level results. Students with 7 A grades receive 50% off, those with 3 A grades receive 30% off, and those with 2 A grades receive 20% off. A Leadership Scholarship of 20% and a Lyceum International School bursary of 15% are also available. Scholarships are applied to Year 1 tuition at Lyceum Campus and confirmed in writing before enrolment.

A diploma is typically a vocational or professional qualification that may or may not have a clear progression route into a degree. The Lyceum Global Foundation Programme has a guaranteed progression pathway into partner university degree programmes.

Yes. The Lyceum Global Foundation Programme is designed as an O/Level-to-degree pathway that does not require A/Levels. You complete the 10-month Foundation Programme at Lyceum Campus and then transfer directly into Year 1 of a bachelor's degree at a partner university. This route is TVEC-recognised and internationally accepted by Lyceum Campus partner institutions.

Students who complete the Foundation in Business stream at Lyceum Campus can progress into the Deakin University 1+2 Pathway Programme. This means Year 1 at Lyceum Campus (Foundation) followed by years 2 and 3 at Deakin University in Australia. It is one of the most cost-effective ways for a Sri Lankan student to earn an Australian university degree.

Tuition fee details are available from the Lyceum Campus admissions team. Merit-based scholarships of up to 50% are available, which significantly reduce the cost of the programme. Students are encouraged to apply with their O/Level results to have their scholarship entitlement confirmed before making a financial decision.
