Ms. Nirmani Samarakoon is a Biomedical Scientist, academic, and researcher with extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership in biomedical sciences. She holds a B.Pharm degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Kelaniya.
With over nine years of university-level teaching and research experience, Ms. Samarakoon currently serves as a Lecturer in Biomedical Science, delivering courses in Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Epidemiology, and Physiology to undergraduate students across several health science disciplines. She has also held academic leadership roles including Head of the Department of Biomedical Science, contributing to programme development and the introduction of new academic and technical training programmes.
Her research interests include pharmacology, phytochemistry, biomedical research methods, and biostatistics, with publications and conference presentations in recognised academic forums. Ms. Samarakoon has received several awards for research excellence and academic contribution, and actively engages in undergraduate research supervision and multidisciplinary research projects.
