Researcher in Civil Engineering

Dr. Rajeev Mallawaarachchi is an accomplished academic and administrator with over 16 years of experience in engineering education, academic leadership, and institutional development. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a B.Sc. Eng. (Hons.) in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at University of Moratuwa. He is also an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL). 
Dr. Mallawaarachchi began his academic career in 2009 at SAITM, where he advanced to become the Head of the Department of Civil & Infrastructure Engineering. In 2018, he joined Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) as a Senior Lecturer and Program Lead for Civil Engineering. In this role, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in curriculum development, academic quality assurance, faculty recruitment, and the delivery of student-centered programs. 

With deep expertise in curriculum development and accreditation, he has led academic programs aligned with both national (UGC, SLQF, IESL) and international standards (IEA, ABET, IET, RICS). He has chaired curriculum committees, steered institutional accreditation efforts, and played a pivotal role in integrating Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and student-centered teaching methodologies into engineering programs.
