On July 6th 2026, a group of Foundation and Deakin students at Lyceum Campus sat down for something a little different from a regular lecture — a full day built around leadership, not lessons. The Leadership Training Program was designed to get students thinking about how they communicate, how they work in a team, and what it actually takes to lead when things get difficult.
It's easy to assume leadership is something you either have or don't. This program pushed back on that idea. Students worked through group exercises, open discussions, and real scenarios meant to build confidence rather than just talk about it. The goal wasn't to hand out a certificate — it was to get students genuinely ready for what university (and life after it) throws at them.
For Lyceum Campus, this ties directly into the Foundation Programme and the Deakin University pathway, where the jump from school to university life can be a big one. Programs like this are part of how the campus tries to close that gap early.
