Dr. Rukshan Darshan Wijesinghe
Dr. Rukshan Darshana Wijesinghe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Lyceum Campus. He holds a B.Sc. Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and has completed his doctoral research in the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering at the same university.
He has extensive experience in higher education, having served as an instructor, research assistant, and lecturer. His academic experience includes teaching electrical engineering, robotics, automation, control systems, and intelligent systems, as well as contributing to curriculum development, academic planning, quality assurance, and accreditation.
Alongside his academic career, Dr. Wijesinghe has industry experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and intelligent system development. His professional work has covered autonomous navigation, self-driving systems, computer vision, and AI-based applications for analytical workflows. This experience enables him to connect academic knowledge with practical engineering applications and industry requirements.
His research interests include robotics, autonomous navigation, reinforcement learning, intelligent control, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and AI-enabled engineering systems. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research integrating mechanical systems, electronics, control, embedded computing, and artificial intelligence. He has co-authored publications in international journals and conferences in robotics, machine learning, computer vision, and intelligent systems.
Dr. Wijesinghe is committed to practical, student-centred engineering education and aims to help students develop the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to design and implement modern mechatronic systems. His academic interests also include research collaboration, industry engagement, and the development of innovative engineering solutions.
