Dr. Rajeev Mallawaarachchi

Dean of Faculty of Engineering

Engineering education plays a vital role in shaping the technological, economic, and social progress of a nation. At Lyceum Campus, the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering reflects our commitment to expanding opportunities for high-quality engineering education in Sri Lanka and preparing graduates capable of addressing complex challenges in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The Faculty represents a natural progression of the Lyceum Global Holdings’ 32+ years of excellence in education, extending that experience into higher education with a clear focus on academic quality, innovation, and national relevance. Our engineering degree programmes are designed to be industry-oriented, project-driven, and problem-based, enabling students to develop analytical thinking, creativity, and practical engineering competence required by modern industry and society.

The curriculum has been benchmarked against programmes offered by leading international universities, and developed in collaboration with experienced academics and industry professionals, bringing global exposure and international best practices into the programme design. Students will benefit from modern in-house laboratory facilities, hands-on learning environments, and a supportive academic culture that encourages inquiry, innovation, and practical application of engineering knowledge.

The Faculty is equally committed to advancing sustainable and inclusive development. Our approach recognises the important role Engineers play in addressing challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also promoting Gender Equality and Equity (GEE) by encouraging broader participation in engineering and ensuring that opportunity and talent can flourish without barriers.

Looking ahead, we are also working towards establishing international progression opportunities through Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships, enabling our students to connect with global academic networks and pursue further educational pathways with reputable universities abroad.

Through these efforts, the Faculty of Engineering at Lyceum Campus aspires to contribute meaningfully to strengthening Sri Lanka’s engineering talent and supporting the nation’s future development.
